Insieme – enjoying together
Insieme is a 4-person apartment in Casa di Montagna Thouraz.

In 2020, Allard & Jantiene found what they weren't looking for: a hidden gem at 1600 meters in the enchanting Italian Aosta Valley. Thouraz is a place that breathes tranquility, invites you outdoors, and is meant to be shared with fellow mountain lovers. The old casa was sustainably rebuilt with respect for its surroundings. Insieme is one of eight apartments, each with its own character.

Insieme means together, and you feel it immediately in this cozy apartment. You'll find Insieme on the lower right of our casa, on the ground floor, with its own side entrance. Thanks to nostalgic rules and design choices during construction, this apartment has gained an extra special character that fully embraces the idea of being together.

The bedrooms feature wooden slats, crafted by our carpenter Joël, which you can open partially or completely. This allows you to control how much light and view you want. The spacious living room offers a spectacular panorama of the 4000-meter peaks of Gran Paradiso National Park, a breathtaking backdrop that makes togetherness even more enjoyable.

Insieme is ideal for a family with young children. Through the French doors to the terrace, kids can play outside while you enjoy the view, peace, and comfort of the apartment.

Extra space for groups
Coming with a group of six? No problem! Insieme can be internally connected to our 2-person apartment Amore. This way, you enjoy togetherness while still maintaining privacy.

To help you feel at home quickly, the apartment is equipped with all modern conveniences. For the atmosphere, we were inspired by the shades that nature displays in every season.

The names of our apartments are words that connect Allard & Jantiene.

Insieme means together, and that makes this apartment extra special. It is the only apartment directly connected to both the old stables and the new casa, and it can be linked so a group of six can enjoy their time in the mountains together.

Creating Insieme required a lot of creativity and flexibility from us. Together, we found solutions and made choices that feel both practical and warm, so the apartment truly radiates a sense of togetherness. For us, Insieme symbolizes exactly how we live and work: planning and inspiring each other together. We hope everyone staying here experiences the same sense of connection and inspiration.

A view with a room!
Thanks to the large windows and French doors, you can enjoy a stunning panorama at any moment. The surrounding mountain peaks almost feel like part of your interior.

Your apartment has a private terrace, completely yours to relax or enjoy the view. Looking for a quiet moment? Find a peaceful spot in our spacious garden. Or in the mood for some socializing? Join other guests on the large terrace and enjoy the sun and scenery together.

With a private entrance, the apartment truly feels like your own home base.

Kitchen
Cooking is even more enjoyable in our modern kitchen. The induction hob with integrated extraction removes odors immediately. Be sure to bring your favorite oven recipes, as the kitchen invites you to try them at your own pace. Pepper, salt, and oil are already provided.

Thanks to the Quooker, you always have boiling water at hand, and the spacious fridge with freezer compartment makes it easy to store meals for several days. The dishwasher hums quietly in the background, taking care of the cleaning for you. All appliances were chosen for quiet operation and ease of use.

Sleeping
The silence of the mountains does the rest: at night, you mainly hear… nothing. Combined with our comfortable Hästens beds and the soft, natural Yumeko bedding, everything is provided for a deep, relaxing sleep, just as sleeping in the mountains should be.

The apartment has two bedrooms, each with its own charm and flexibility. One bedroom has a large double bed, which can also be separated into two single beds if desired. The other bedroom has two comfortable single beds and provides the option to connect internally to the 2-person apartment Amore. If not in use, the door remains closed.

Both bedrooms feature a half-open wall to the living room and kitchen, which can be easily closed with stylish wooden slats. This allows you to choose the level of privacy and light, while preserving the warm atmosphere of the apartment.

Bathroom
Enjoy a long, relaxing shower under our generous rain shower with the Hydraloop Upfall Shower. You can shower as long as you like, guilt-free: up to 80% of the water and energy is reused. Comfort and sustainability go hand in hand here, allowing you to fully enjoy the peace and beauty of the surrounding mountains. Soft, sustainable towels from Yumeko are provided.

Workation, work & vacation
Imagine waking up to the fresh mountain air, a cup of coffee with a view over the Aosta Valley, and then getting productive work done. At Casa di Montagna Thouraz, you effortlessly combine the best of both worlds: peaceful work and recharging in nature.

GOOD TO KNOW

• The apartment has a surface area of 53m² & a private outdoor terrace
• The road to Thouraz winds through the mountains but is well maintained. In winter, the road is cleared when necessary between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.
• Shops, groceries, and medical facilities can be found in Aosta, about a 30-minute drive away.
• Casa di Montagna Thouraz is set in an oasis of peace, nature, and silence—the perfect place to truly get away from it all. To preserve this serene atmosphere, we kindly ask you to be mindful of one another and to respect the natural surroundings.
• Allard and Jantiene, or one of our trusted hosts, are regularly present at the casa. We are happy to welcome you personally and to share our favorite tips for a wonderful stay.
• Check-in is possible at any time of day; all practical information will be sent to you by email shortly before arrival.

HOW TO GET TO THOURAZ?

By car

• By car, Thouraz is easily accessible via Germany, Switzerland, and the Grand Saint Bernard Tunnel. This route is often the fastest and most affordable. Check the tunnel website for more information.
• During the summer months, you can also drive over the Col du Grand Saint Bernard. This adds about 20 minutes to your journey, but offers stunning views and the opportunity for your first Italian coffee on the way to Thouraz.
• You can also travel via France and the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Check the tunnel website for more information.
• Once you leave the main road, a series of hairpin bends will lead you up to Thouraz. This is a well-maintained mountain road.

By train

• By train, travel to Martigny (Switzerland).
• From here, on weekdays, you can take the bus to Aosta. It departs at 8:30 a.m. (and returns from Aosta to Martigny at 4:15 p.m.).
• From Aosta, you can hike up to Thouraz (1,000 meters of ascent).
• You can also arrange a carpool with one of the other travelers from Martigny, or take a taxi (see below for more information).

By plane

• You can fly to Milan, Turin, or Geneva and from there travel to Aosta by train or Flixbus.

Flixbus

• You can also travel to Aosta by Flixbus from major cities across Europe.

You can also easily reach Casa di Montagna Thouraz with our taxi driver Daniele. Our guests receive a discount. Arrival in Thouraz from:

ABOUT THE SURROUNDINGS

Our home in Thouraz is located at an altitude of 1608 meters in the Aosta Valley in Italy, surrounded by the giants of the Alps: Mont Blanc (4806 meters), the Matterhorn (4478 meters), and Gran Paradiso (4061 meters).

All year round, the area offers an oasis of peace and quiet. The Aosta Valley is known as one of the sunniest regions in the Alps, with more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Located on a south-facing slope and offering panoramic views, it is a true pleasure for any mountain lover. Even during the high season, you can enjoy the almost meditative atmosphere.

Step outside your front door and you are immediately immersed in nature. This apartment is perfect for anyone who loves hiking, running, cycling, exploring, or simply unwinding among the mountains.

Within 30 minutes, you can reach the lively town of Aosta, with its restaurants, shops, and rich history. From here, the cable car also departs to the Pila ski area.
